Forza Horizon 6 Lands Xbox Ultimate Game of the Year Nomination

Awards season is gearing up, and the Golden Joystick Awards 2026 have officially revealed their final nominations for Ultimate Game of the Year. Representing the Xbox ecosystem is none other than Forza Horizon 6, a title that roared onto the scene back in May. This prestigious nomination places the flagship racing series in contention against eleven other remarkable games, a testament to its impact and quality.

While Forza Horizon 6 is the sole Xbox title vying for the ultimate prize this year, it's worth noting that other major Xbox releases like Halo: Campaign Evolved and the highly anticipated Gears of War: E-Day did not make the final cut for this specific category. Despite the latter being eligible, it ultimately didn't secure a spot among the nominees. The full list of contenders showcases a broad spectrum of gaming experiences, including 007 First Light, Big Walk, CONTROL Resonant, Crimson Desert, Dispatch, Phantom Blade Zero, Pokémon Pokopia, PRAGMATA, Resident Evil Requiem, STAR WARS: Galactic Racer, and The Blood of Dawnwalker. The sheer variety on display underscores the incredibly competitive nature of the gaming landscape in 2026.

Fan Engagement and the Road to Victory

For dedicated fans of Forza Horizon 6 and Xbox in general, this nomination is a significant moment. It provides a clear opportunity to rally behind a title that has clearly resonated with critics and players alike. The Golden Joystick Awards have always been heavily influenced by public vote, making community engagement absolutely crucial. The sheer breadth of genres represented in the nominations means that fans will need to actively cast their votes to ensure their favorites have the best chance of winning. It’s a chance for the passionate Forza community to show their appreciation for the open-world driving experience that has become a staple for Xbox players worldwide.
